Jeremy Harmer is a successful writer, especially in the field of English language teaching (ELT). He is also a practicing musician and spoken-word performer. As a singer-songwriter/guitarist he has released two albums and he regularly performs in and around Cambridge and around the world.
Together with conductor Steve Bingham Jeremy has designed and toured a number of shows both nationally and internationally, including Touchable Dreams – a mixture of poetry and music – which is available on CD.
Phil Toms is an active musician around the country, specialising in (high speed) orchestral arranging and performing on double bass, piano and keyboards. His musical interests bridge the gap between classical, jazz, film music, musical theatre, popular music and prog rock.
Having spent ten years teaching in schools, Phil is Head of Digital Media and lectures on the Creative Arts degree courses at Colchester Institute. His regular collaborators include Jeremy Harmer and Steve Bingham (notably Phil’s arrangements for Steve’s YouTube videos and live concerts), writing and playing for Judy Dyble (formerly of Fairport Convention), and working with the English Pops Orchestra as Assistant MD. In what little spare time he has, Phil enjoys co-hosting a radio show and spending time at Longleat House, near Bath, where he is often found at the piano.
